Buy it Baby Success!

What an awesome day.  Had a very lovely time at the Buy it Baby fair in gorgeous lovely Otford - must go down there for a wander when not heavily pregnant and browse the antiques shops and have a nice pub lunch.

Sales were good, felt brooches are a winner, as are hair clips - must make more for next time.  Lots of interest in the dresses, trousers and skirts and lots of very positive feedback.  I think the trouser and skirt range may well have to extend to 6-9 and 9-12 months so will have to get working on some new patterns.

Here's a rather shaky picture of my loyal friend Jess manning the stall.  She travelled about 100 miles to help me out - what a trouper!

I really must remember to iron the table cloth for next time!

So pleased with the feedback, especially from the lovely lady who bought the 1-2 yrs pinafore there and then.  It's really encouraging to be told you should go on Dragon's Den with your products!

1-2 yrs Pinafore design finalised

Been meaning to get around to this for ages and here it is in a lovely Tanya Whelan French Hatbox wide pink stripe.

Thanks to my mum for donating an old denim skirt.  She's very tiny, so the pocket size worked really well and looks in proportion to the teeny dress.  1-2 years old looks so small now Erin is getting so big.

It's teeny!

This is such a simple yet gorgeous print.

So there we go, the pinafore range is complete.  I feel a sudden sense of calm and order in my life.  Ahhh.

Cup of tea I think.

Hair clips

Keep having new product ideas - loving this flurry of inspiration.

Today:  Hair clips

 In denim to start.

Think felt will work really well too.  Yes, pack of two, one denim, one felt.  The WP accessories line continues to grow...

Fabric Flower Brooches

Endless possibilities - from top left - felt, a wool-type fabric, denim.

How gorgeous? These are so quick and simple to make and will be a great way to use up fabric remnants.  Now on to a headband...

Hurrah for the glue gun!

(For Helen - so you can see what it is!)

New WP Pinafore shape

Have slimmed down the WP Pinafore design, narrowing the neckline and sculpting the sides to give a more shapely silhouette.  Here are a couple of samples I put together today ready to take to the Buy it Baby fair.

Age 3-4 using Tanya Whelan French Hatbox TriRose in Lavender

Age 4-5 using Tanya Whelan Lana in Turquoise

WP ra ra skirts now in bigger sizes

Just finished off a Ra Ra skirt for the lovely Jo at Ladies that Cake.  Am just in love with the fabric.  Tanya Whelan's Darla range Picnic Rose in blue.  Stunning.

It's size 8-9 yrs so I think that means the range has now officially expanded to older children!  Must find a way to adapt the pinafore...

It's here and it's all gorgeous!

Friday and Saturday nights used to mean going out, copious amounts of booze and a lot of carbs to cure the pain the next day.  These days, I'm quite content to iron my newly washed gorgeous Tanya Whelan fabrics and crack on with the maternity smock top I started earlier, now Mr WP is getting the nipper to bed.

It's great that things change.

I am absolutely delighted with my new fabrics though.  They look even better in the flesh.  Take a look:

Now for some sewing...

A new line for the WP empire

Managed to find the time to finish off the design for the new WP ra-ra skirt:

(Just had to google 'ra ra skirt' to see if I'd made up the term, but even ASOS confirms it is valid.)

I think it's really cute and I really like the applique rose on the denim.  Will be trying it on my trusty, ever patient and enduring (as if!) model when she arrives home from nursery tonight.

Watch out for it and other versions on the website soon.
