Buy it Baby Success!

What an awesome day.  Had a very lovely time at the Buy it Baby fair in gorgeous lovely Otford - must go down there for a wander when not heavily pregnant and browse the antiques shops and have a nice pub lunch.

Sales were good, felt brooches are a winner, as are hair clips - must make more for next time.  Lots of interest in the dresses, trousers and skirts and lots of very positive feedback.  I think the trouser and skirt range may well have to extend to 6-9 and 9-12 months so will have to get working on some new patterns.

Here's a rather shaky picture of my loyal friend Jess manning the stall.  She travelled about 100 miles to help me out - what a trouper!

I really must remember to iron the table cloth for next time!

So pleased with the feedback, especially from the lovely lady who bought the 1-2 yrs pinafore there and then.  It's really encouraging to be told you should go on Dragon's Den with your products!

WP ra ra skirts now in bigger sizes

Just finished off a Ra Ra skirt for the lovely Jo at Ladies that Cake.  Am just in love with the fabric.  Tanya Whelan's Darla range Picnic Rose in blue.  Stunning.

It's size 8-9 yrs so I think that means the range has now officially expanded to older children!  Must find a way to adapt the pinafore...

Body Shop at home party

My good friend Helen is having a Body Shop at home party on 23rd September from 3-5pm at her home in Green Street Green.  Children welcome so it's going to be pandemonium and fun, all at the same time (just how Helen likes it I suspect!).

Am going to stock up on pampering products, especially for poor tired pregnant feet, and do some early Christmas shopping.  Whoop!

Let me know if you can make it and want the address.

Oh yes, and I just remembered I promised to make scones.  There will be tea and cake (Helen makes good cakes) - what more could you ask for?!

Hello Ladies that Cake!

Had a really enjoyable time at the F&F sale today.  Bagged some bargains and met a lot of lovely people.  Have just had a taste of my Ladies that Cake crocodile mini cake and boy it was good!  Might not last the night for the daughter to taste in the morning...

Fair & Fabulous sale - bargains a plenty - Sat 13/8 1-6pm

The lady running this sale has very kindly allowed me to promote WP at the event.  I am constantly pleasantly surprised by how kind and supportive people are, usually total strangers!

Well the date is set for the Fair and Fabulous sale, Sat 13th August, anytime between 1pm - 6pm. 

The venue: at my Mum's house in Petts Wood (please message me if you need the address). 

Open house (and garden weather permitting) with tea & cakes. 

Please bring friends & family along and hopefully snap up a bargain! (cool baby & toddler clothes, toys, bags, gifts, cards).

Nature Nuts

Busy week this week!  Visited Coolings Green & Pleasant on Tuesday morning to take Erin to a Nature Nuts 'Beautiful Butterfly' session.

It was brilliant!  I love Coolings anyway, the nature trail is really good and well maintained with a lot of happy healthy animals (wallabies, goats, sheep, pigs and the biggest chicken ever!) and interesting things to see (bug hotels, wigwams, the conifer tunnel and a den).

Kirsty's nature nuts session was run in their outdoor classroom and was really well structured.  She has a really good rapport with the children, engaging all ages and involving them all in a structured way.  They played games, got up close with a butterfly, planted seeds, made a butterfly pot marker, read a story and then took on the nature trail challenge before heading to the cafe for lunch, face painting and drawing.

I can't quite believe we managed to fit all of that in in just 2 hours!

At £10 per child, it was amazing value.  Erin was totally engrossed and really enjoyed herself, getting properly involved in every activity.  I'm not sure if it was Kirsty's manner or the size of the group, but I haven't seen her ever get so much out of a play/learn session before.

Highly recommend Nature Nuts to other families - think Kirsty is planning some more sessions at Coolings and she advertises children's parties on her website.  Check it out.

Boppin Tots

Went to Boppin Tots at St John's church hall on Lynwood Grove in Orpington today.  £4 for a good 45 minutes worth of fun, toys, singing and dancing with Vicky, who must be the most energetic lady on the planet!

Erin loves it and all of the children there get totally into it, running around after Vicky shouting and laughing.

Vicky also very kindly let me hand out some WP flyers - top lady!

One of the best things I find about this group is that you don't have to book or sign up.  And the more children there are there, the better it is.

Art Shack

A friend introduced me to this - good to support other local small businesses:

Calling all future Van Gogh’s, Da Vinci’s or Dali’s the Art Shack will be running a trial session Monday 25th July at 10.30 in the Poverest Coronation Hall, Bridge rd, Orpington BR5 2DA. The session is primarily for Pre-schoolers but older siblings are welcome.

The trail session will be based around the theme of space with 4 different areas:

Area 51: Build your own rocket with card, glitter, foam shapes and pom poms.

Area 52: Paint your own Alien mask

Area 53: Create your own night space picture with chalk and black paper

Area 54: for those who just want to play with some dough.

After you have created your own space art, the session will rap up with an interactive space story

Juice will be available but please bring your own cups.
 

The session shall run for approx 45mins to 1 hour and each activity should take a maximum 15 minutes.

And all this for a mere £3.00 per child.
