Hair clips

Keep having new product ideas - loving this flurry of inspiration.

Today:  Hair clips

 In denim to start.

Think felt will work really well too.  Yes, pack of two, one denim, one felt.  The WP accessories line continues to grow...

Fabric Flower Brooches

Endless possibilities - from top left - felt, a wool-type fabric, denim.

How gorgeous? These are so quick and simple to make and will be a great way to use up fabric remnants.  Now on to a headband...

Hurrah for the glue gun!

(For Helen - so you can see what it is!)

Glue Gun!

Oh dear!  A whole new world of wonky homemade projects has opened up since my glue gun arrived today.  I'm finally going to be able to complete a lot of the things on my 'to make...' Pinterest board.

Here's a first attempt at a homemade card.  Think I need a bit of practice with the gun, as you have to be quick before the glue sets.  So the heart isn't exactly in the shape I wanted, and it's a bit off-centre, but hey, all in all it looks pretty cute.

Now, on to felt broaches.  And I had an idea for headbands with denim roses...

New WP Pinafore shape

Have slimmed down the WP Pinafore design, narrowing the neckline and sculpting the sides to give a more shapely silhouette.  Here are a couple of samples I put together today ready to take to the Buy it Baby fair.

King's Road

Spent a day with some very good old friends yesterday on the King's Road and at Buckingham Palace viewing "The Dress".  Had a good browse of the Peter Jones haberdashery department in Sloane Square before a mooch around Cath Kidston and afternoon tea at the Chelsea Teapot.  Fabulous cakes and a very nice cup of Darjeeling.  We giggled like schoolgirls and misbehaved totally, just like the old days.

Then on to the Palace to view the state rooms and the Duchess of Cambridge's wedding dress.  Being quite pregnant, we managed to even be allowed to use the loo inside the Palace!  Could quite imagine Harry popping off for a wazz before the photos were taken on the big day.

A great experience and in great company.

New bean blind - it's up!

And there was no need for bribery brownies - Mr WP got his drill out and got stuck in.  Really impressed that a) it works, b) it fits and c) it looks pretty good!

This weeks' creation

Needed a banner for the Buy it Baby sale. Came up with this idea, rather than just using a piece of fabric.  Really happy with it!

WP ra ra skirts now in bigger sizes

Just finished off a Ra Ra skirt for the lovely Jo at Ladies that Cake.  Am just in love with the fabric.  Tanya Whelan's Darla range Picnic Rose in blue.  Stunning.

It's size 8-9 yrs so I think that means the range has now officially expanded to older children!  Must find a way to adapt the pinafore...

Body Shop at home party

My good friend Helen is having a Body Shop at home party on 23rd September from 3-5pm at her home in Green Street Green.  Children welcome so it's going to be pandemonium and fun, all at the same time (just how Helen likes it I suspect!).

Am going to stock up on pampering products, especially for poor tired pregnant feet, and do some early Christmas shopping.  Whoop!

Let me know if you can make it and want the address.

Oh yes, and I just remembered I promised to make scones.  There will be tea and cake (Helen makes good cakes) - what more could you ask for?!

Sorting buttons

Last one for the day.  Spent a while sorting buttons with Erin - small buttons = great for crafting.

Yesterday's creation

It's been a good weekend for sewing.  I saw a dress when on holiday in the glorious New Forest but decided against buying it as it had rather flouncy pockets and that's just not my style.  The next time I saw my very good friend Jess, she was wearing the exact same dress - how uncanny!

My Pinterest addiction turned up the gorgeous mustard yellow example below and the simple instructions (see my 'to sew...' page) inspired me to have a crack.  So I did.  Unfortunately I got my sizing a little bit out, so I think it will have to wait until number 2 has been out a while before I can comfortably get into it.  But hey, it'll be great for covering up post baby bulges.

Today's creation - pillow case

I chopped up an old dressing gown that has been hanging on the back of the bedroom door without moving for over a year.  Here's what has become of it:

Took about 45 mins including 5 buttons and button holes.  Well done me!

Kindle Case

Made rather hastily for Mr WP.  Not too shabby.

Saturday 3 September 2011

It's here and it's all gorgeous!

Friday and Saturday nights used to mean going out, copious amounts of booze and a lot of carbs to cure the pain the next day.  These days, I'm quite content to iron my newly washed gorgeous Tanya Whelan fabrics and crack on with the maternity smock top I started earlier, now Mr WP is getting the nipper to bed.

It's great that things change.

I am absolutely delighted with my new fabrics though.  They look even better in the flesh.  Take a look:

Now for some sewing...

Everybody loves bunting

Busy afternoon today - lots of energy!  Started my sample bunting to take to the Buy it Baby fair.  Just waiting on new fabrics to arrive (Royal Mail are so pants) and then can add them on.

Figured bunting was a jolly way to display the fabrics I have for potential customers to choose for their trousers, dresses and now skirts.
